A new survey today shows that fried food has replaced tikka masala chicken as the most popular dish in the UK.
Simple Cantonese cuisine, usually fresh vegetables and noodles, is now the most common cooked food in the UK.
Now one out of every five Brits is at least once a week, more than twice a week.
Thirds said that a large part of its appeal is easier to prepare than traditional British cuisine, stirring on average
It takes only a few minutes to fry and throw it together and cook in the pan.
Asian cuisine is becoming more and more popular in the UK and has now become part of the UK staple food, as families choose international cuisine instead of British cuisine for three of the seven nights of the week.
Nine of British's favorite international cuisine are Asian.
The study surveyed 2,000 British people's favorite international foods, conducted by the British Food Network, and in addition, sushi and noodles are now cooked as regularly as traditional dishes such as pasta and potatoes.
Half of Brits are used to exotic spices, and they say traditional British dishes such as cottage pies, sausages and mashed potatoes, and fish and chips are too tedious.
Now we have more than a quarter of people eating more Chinese, Thai and Japanese food than 10 years ago.
The survey shows that this is a trend that is likely to grow, and the third parent admits that their children are more adventurous than they are and are more willing to try new food.
Nick sorogood, managing director of the Food Network EMEA, said: "Our research shows that tastes in the UK have changed and we now have a preference for exotic tastes around the world.
"For a typical family, ordinary dinners from Thailand or Japan a decade ago are unheard.
But now, it is considered normal to change a cottage to a Thai green curry.
"It's interesting to see that nine of the top 10 international dishes we often eat are Asian dishes.
"It shows that dishes that were once considered exotic and are now considered Daily dishes and we are becoming the owners of the wok.
It is encouraging to hear that children have tried food from different cultures since childhood and are not afraid to try different flavors.
