Zara —
This snack bar restaurant has just celebrated its 12 th anniversary and cheers to a 12-year party in Chennai.
At the beginning, the menu is to imitate Spanish tapas bars, known for serving a small amount of food, so that party people can eat snacks while drinking.
"From the very beginning, we had typical Spanish dishes like squid cooked in red wine, prawn spinach patties and mushrooms.
Even if it is not mentioned on the menu, people will still ask for it, "said Aji Joseph, a all-India corporate chef of oriental cuisine, who has been working at Zara since Zara was founded.
They also adjusted the menu to include clearly spicy and spicy food to please the Indian palette, he added.
Over the years, many new bars have emerged in the city, shaping Chennai's unique nightlife and bar culture.
Despite this, many locals still have feelings for Zara, as it opens the cultural prelude to the City bar in many ways, drinking cocktails in five-star bars and encouraging people to socialize outside the weekend.
While Zara may not be the city's hippest bar, its pop music, solid Sangria Bar and regulars line-up are certainly a welcome space.
We asked some regulars why it was so special for chennaipaviramramaswamy, 31, chief operating officer of Evam entertainment about eight years ago, and pavithra's friends persuaded her to go to Zara, because they knew the DJ was playing there that night.
Pavithra is now a loyal person.
The bartender even made her a special sangria!
What changed: the theme they brought to entertainment over the years --
Masquerade, Grandstand
Comedy show, DJ night.
Favorite occasions: Sunday brunch buffet and alcoholic drinks.
Pick from the menu: mushrooms with red wine sauce-
It's spicy but healthy.
Best memory: last year, I had a party there for my friends.
It's nice to have so many people I love around me and have them taken care of by a familiar group of waiters.
Abraham Thomas, 56, hosted bank officials from all over the country in his job profile.
He prefers to take them to Zara instead of five.
He thought the hotel was more optimistic.
He visited the bar every week for the first four years.
Then his daughter became a regular visitor.
When are you coming: Sometimes my wife and I just stop for a beer if we drive past.
What do you like about this place: Over the years, I have been very friendly with the people there.
I love retro and live music.
What changed: they improved their food and played in drinks.
Even young people like it these days, I feel more noisy.
Favorite snacks: fish fillet and fried squid.
My daughter's birthday was celebrated there.
You are not allowed to dance on the table, but I think she did.
Harish Nekkanti business Manzara, 26, was one of the first bars Harish went to when he was legally drinking.
A big advantage of the bar, he says, is that many of his friends also enjoy hanging out there.
So when he visits, he often sees many well-known faces.
What attracts you there: all the people who work there are also nice.
What has changed: there is not much change in this place
This may be the reason why we like it.
