When I left the restaurant after an anonymous comment, I tried to boil the experience down to one word.
As far as Jack and Louis are concerned, this is part of the overall resurrection of James Street North, and the word the other night was "value ". "Food was good.
Good service. Value?
Okay, we have two refills-up house-
One side of the burger, salad and soup and one small (organic craft)
The bill is just $30 for beer plus taxes and tips.
It's hard to find this price now.
The menu is small and narrow.
Basically a dozen burgers and hot sandwiches.
There are some vegetarian options in this mix.
This evening, the small daily featured plate also offers a long leaf lettuce and spinach salad, as well as Asian pears ($6)
There is also a dish with mushroom gravy and cheese ($8).
We chose two common entrees, and in honor of the tendency of the slightly younger crowd, Jack and Louis, we chose a vegetarian diet.
The place is small, with about 24 seats, very eclectic, and the fraction of the table and chair looks like from the old --time diners.
There's a bunch of vinyl records (vinyl records? )
Go aside.
A very humorous point is that the framed portrait of smiling at everyone is not a religious symbol or a politician, or even a company owner,-ready? —
William Shatner
Another thing I noticed that is different from Jack & Lois: Forget the fries.
These burgers do not come with the potato side, except for the poutine special, and I think you will find this in almost all other Patti avatars in the universe.

All sandwiches individually or as part of the platter)
You get a bunch of fresh houses.
Fun salads and a small bowl of soup of your choice were made.
We went with John's candy platter ($14)and the burger-only Jester ($8).
By the way, Jack & Lois also has a local tendency
The bread they serve comes from the cake and bread bakery in Hamilton, while the French baguette comes from the Ace Bakery.
Let me tell you that the clown is really nice and I am not the kind of person who likes vegetables when roast beef is at hand.
This is a big house.
Black bean burger with garlic sauce
Tuck the mayonnaise, lettuce and tomato into a golden toast.
Good Burger-
It is very humid, and the taste of black beans is seasoned with curry, headed by cumin.
There is also a nice pepper spike. A hit.
John Candy, named after the late comedian, is not stingy with meat.
8 ounces of beef pie (225 g)
Thick and get five pieces of bacon with crispy maple side bacon after baking (
Melted cheddar cheese).
I did find the burger itself a bit dense (
Very tight hands)
Dry, but the taste is good and the effect is very good as part of the whole. (
My quota for roast pork this month has been blown. )
The salad next to it was fantastic, chopped cabbage, cabbage, carrots, chili peppers and roasted peanuts and added sesame oil mix.
It's a bit exotic, but it's also crisp and fresh.
Soup, I can choose the Burnt tomatoes, the creamy mushrooms or the spicy Thai food.
The Thai won.
Very delicious coconut milk, added some unique peppers, added lemon grass and a variety of chopped vegetables.
Not much (
Maybe half a cup/125 ml)
But very satisfactory.
Jack & Lois is a casual and friendly place and it does exactly the right thing.
Especially in terms of price, it is difficult to ask for more.
