MS-13: The violent gang targeting rich US suburbia in Long Island - most expensive restaurant dishes in the world

Long Island is home to some of America's most expensive properties.
It is also a stronghold of one of the world's most dangerous gangs. MS-
Mara Salvatrucha originated in Los Angeles in the 1980 s, but it spread throughout Central America when members were deported back to El Salvador.
Some people, especially children, try to escape violence by moving to the United States.
But the threat comes with it.
It is estimated that there are more than 8,000 suspicious members nationwide.
In the leafy enclave on the outskirts of Long Island, the gang has been linked to 20 murders for more than two years.

The Trump administration says the group is targeting unaccompanied children entering the United States from Central America.
Police say more than 4,600 unaccompanied Central American children have arrived in Suffolk County since 2014.
Young people, parents, police and prison officials describe gang members who are trying to recruit at school.
200 suspected members and associates were recently arrested.
State police are now in school and police are approaching undocumented immigrants.
But the recent notoriety of this mysterious gang will only keep them out of sight.
Critics say the raid was to justify a broader crackdown on migrants.
