Lavender: The Best Little Asian Bistro In Gwinnett County, GA - pad thai restaurant classic thai dishes & siam-brewed beers

This is not a restaurant review.
In some ways, it is more like a love letter;
Since the opening of lavender Asian Bistro in 2003, my family has been its stable customer.
There are no other options, but Lavender has little to no peers in terms of the quality and presentation of the food, the enthusiasm of the service and the professional spirit ---
Or pure, pure value. \" anyway?
Well, "bistro" is defined as "small, medium, European-
The style restaurant or cafe, "Perfect for: lavender is relatively small and located in a humble shopping center, nonetheless, it adheres to a high standard of food and atmosphere.
From Sichuan chicken to Mongolian beef, to Thai Fried River powder, and a variety of fine and balanced curry.
Lavender is the idea of Mr.
James King, 20-
Working in a restaurant for five years.
He had just arrived in the United States during the Reagan administration.
In the kitchen of the New York restaurant, Xiao Wang made an informal but arduous apprentice, starting with the dishwasher.
This is an era of building skills and knowledge, and an era of building relationships:
New york-era workers have become a quick friend and have been the cornerstone of lavender since its opening as chef.
It sounds like a classic American success story, but it's not just a matter of money. Mr. Wang--
Who is interested in other restaurants in the Atlanta area--
Tried to retire a few years ago.
But there are too many inactivity in a year; twelve-and fourteen-
Hard work, achievement and participation for one hour a day is clearly difficult to give up.
It is clear that he is the person who really wants to go, whether it is to greet the customer outside with his usual enthusiasm and humor, or to return to the kitchen and work with a new chef, to make sure he has the "path to Lavender ". \"Lavender way?
"Well, I made it up ---
But there is a micro culture of commitment to quality that you can both see and feel.
But what exactly is this place like?
The environment is very general.
It is located in a small shopping center, the most prominent feature of which is the Chevron gas station.
It is clean and tidy enough, but it must be admitted that it is not very distinctive.
But once you go through the entrance and go through the inevitable "special price" board, this will change.
Warm and elegant inside.
D. ©Cole is burgundy and gold. -almost mustard.
It's warm but not overwhelming, and (perhaps not entirely coincidental) reminiscent of the color of a local high school.
(This is a new color scheme, by the way ---
As early as 2008, an unattended child scratched many of the original lavender --
Paint panels that can be reached, after $12,000, look!
Wine and gold.
The table is decorated with colored glass-tone fixtures that look a lot like inverted martini glasses.
Although the degree of ambiguity is not reached, the light is soft;
Bar against the south wall--
Sparkling inverted glassware, brightly colored labels and traditional mirrors ---
The main dining area was partially blocked by the room partition, giving privacy to the two rows of stalls.
The north wall has a raised area with more stalls, and the larger round table fills the comfort space between the two.
Colored windows along the east wall can see parking lots and highways ---
Maybe it's just me, but the pine trees across the road always seem to be in focus ---
At the same time protect the privacy of diners.
The west wall provides what might be called a "half wall"open kitchen.
\ "The window shows a spotless kitchen from about the height of the chest, leaving the impression of a white coat and stainless steel, occasionally flashing quickly because of a dish getting a flame©Treatment.
You will be warmly welcomed when you arrive, if you are a regular customer, you will most likely be named and you will sit down soon, and will consider your cooking options before you know
The portion size and price of the lunch menu are small, and the dinner lists for Chinese and Thai dishes are also different.
The Chinese menu is the larger of the two, and I think it is fair to say that the Thai side is American; Mr.
After all, Wang learned his Thai cooking in New York.
You won't find hot curry here unless specifically requested.
But the first thing that attracts us is the Thai part of the menu, which I always order.
For example, the ubiquitous Thai Fried River powder, known as the delicious appetizer of the South tuk ---
A delicious mixture of meat, onions, and spices packaged in Tacos
Not on flat bread, but on fresh lettuce leaves ---
And some delicious soup. ;
Green lime juice can be used against coconut milk, and chicken is enhanced with delicious mushroom slices.
Good Curry.
Or masaman.
The taste is sweet, satisfactory and satisfactory.
-Yes, the heat here is much lower than the authentic Thai standard, but it is just right for the taste of North Americans.
--xa0Although most of the main ingredients are shared, each variety is a bit different, I must admit that the expression is beyond my ability to describe.
--xa0Perhaps, as the menu says, Green is a more gentle, subtle sweetness to the south.
But Chinese dishes will definitely be preserved, and we haven't ignored them in any case over the years.
The options are also somewhat eclectic, including Mandarin, Sichuan, Hunan and even Singapore.
What we like most is pot stickers. -
Always a fun appetizer;
Mongolian beef, spicy and refreshing;
Exotic mango shrimp or mango chicken;
Orange Chicken (sometimes we replace it with beef, although it is not on the menu );
There are also a variety of fish dishes.
Whatever you order it will look very elegant-
Sometimes even have their own special
Dishes of choice, complement the food with the color and shape of the appropriate choice.
Some will not disappoint;
This is not the kind of place to satisfy purely by eyes and taste.
Your stomach will be happy, too.
If there is a drawback to those rich parts, it is dessert ---
That said, you may not have left enough space for it.
Dessert is a small part of the menu, only halfa-dozen choices.
However, these options are unusual and worth mentioning: ice cream, not only the flavors you might expect, such as coconut or mango, but also unexpected surprises, green tea ice cream.
Banana fritters, sticky rice and fried ice cream-
There was a dish at the last table ceremony ---
They also have fans.
Wine and drinks are another force.
-The wine list is not particularly expensive, but it is chosen after careful consideration;
Suggestions for food and drink combinations are available for inquiry.
It is worth mentioning here that Lavender occasionally hosts wine and dining activities, pre-selecting a combination of food and wine on a fixed price basis.
In the end, however, I think lavender is more than just the sum of all these advantages for me.
This is also our history there;
This is a family dinner when we need to celebrate something;
Romantic birthday dinner for two
Leisure station-
Have a church lunch with friends; and the post-
Walking on Saturday we relaxed and bloomed on the second bottle of wine as we laughed ---
Happily replaced all the calories we just consumed in the fresh, clear Georgia mountains air.
I mean, you can't buy that. -
You will, of course.
While lavender may be valuable, you will get a check at the end of your meal, you should pay for it, and, if your service is as good as what we have been getting there, then it is fair to write down a good and reliable prompt.
But there's something extra--
A spirit of art for the sake of art, beyond expectations for its happiness.
When you go, laugh, taste, enjoy, and you can be a part of it too ---
A necessary part of the process.
Part of giving and asking.
Part of giving and asking. Give it a try.
