I asked him to pick me up in town.
The reason that prompted me to write this was that I felt disgusted when I opened the tub and saw that something inside barely covered the bottom of the container, which in itself was a 3 inch (8 cm) tall plastic product.
As you will see, if you look at the title picture of the article at the same time and the picture on the right side of the article, there is absolutely no logical reason to make the container much larger than it might need to hold the 30 tablets it contains.
To make matters worse, the container is made of plastic, which may still exist after a long time of human extinction.
I almost immediately remembered another similar incident that occurred when I was working at a local facility management company.
As a receptionist, I often have to open the delivered package in order to determine who the item is.
One day, a large box of about 2ft x 18 \ "arrived by courier and after signing, I opened this very light box.
Packaging chip, I look inside, I hope to find the mysterious content of the package.
After a while it became apparent that it would not be so easy to find, so I carefully started scooping a few pieces of polystyrene onto the table.
Eventually I came to the bottom of this big box when I was surrounded by colorful pieces of polystyrene and it looked like I was already buried behind the reception desk.
Finally, at the bottom of the box, the success of getting lost in a corner is a small connector, about an inch square.
I have to admit that I have actually laughed now because the whole situation is ridiculous.
This item is easy to send out in a small padded envelope, but no, obviously, this cheap connector needs to be packed to send a newly discovered Egyptian artifact all over the world, there is enough padding to ensure that if the office lads choose to play football with the boxes around the office during lunch time, even the Ming vase in the same box will not break.
But seriously, I'm starting to wonder if these companies really don't know the pressure that we are currently under, that is, to protect the welfare of the environment and reduce the pressure that already exists in landfill sites, reduce unnecessary packaging to fill up at an amazing speed.
Sainsbury \'s at the dock due to plastic shrink beef joints-
A landmark prosecution will put pressure on British supermarkets to stop wasting huge amounts of food packaging.
Sainsbury's has been sued for using excessive packaging in the move, which could open the door to a series of similar allegations.
The store is the first supermarket to face official action due to waste of packaging.
Trading standards officials took decisive action on sainsbury's slow-maturing final beef.
Not only does it have plastic shrink function
Packed but placed in a plastic tray with a clear plastic cover on top and a cardboard sleeve around it.
This meat is a typical example of supermarket overpackaging and the resulting waste, which activists say is turning the country into a bin for Europe.
About 5 of the average shopping baskets are packaged and 9 are produced in the UK.
There are 3 million tons of waste packaging per year, equivalent to the weight of 245 large jets per week.
Personally, I am frustrated that only Sainsbury has been prosecuted in the UK so far, especially since legislation has been put in place, apparently avoiding the use of redundant packaging.
The problem seems to be that this practice is barely implemented enough, and it is clear that some companies continue to ignore the legal risks of continuing this illegal practice, in terms of knowledge, few people do safe things to pursue them.
Another problem is that many companies may just send items from one company to another, so the excess packaging is not visible to the public or the authorities, (like the small connector I 've experienced in the huge polystyrene chip box ).
In this case, I think it is correct to have direct contact with the general manager of these businesses, if you, as an employee, tried this method but failed, and then, the next stage is to report these companies to your local authorities and ask them to take action on this.
As individuals, the more pressure we put, the better. The Earth is our responsibility, just like the authorities.
I am also confused and confused about how to use so many redundant packages that are cost-effective for these businesses.
Of course, they must be much more expensive to make a plastic container that is 5 times the size needed to accommodate several vitamin tablets, and I can reasonably determine, the postage for a huge box with a small connector will be much more expensive than simply placing the said item in a padded envelope and sending the recorded delivery.
I decided to do a quick internet search to find more examples of packaging craziness.
I have added them to the "over-wrap Gallery" below, thank you so much for any other pictures you may want to email me, show me examples of the same shameful practices you 've found to wrap the product to death, (sometimes so much, unless armed with a machete or chainsaw, otherwise we can hardly take them out of the package ourselves ).
If you think you may have the right picture or find the right one online, then please post a link in the comments section below, or contact me directly using the envelope icon below my profile picture at the top of this hub.
I can then email you directly and give you an email address to send the image.
If we can show enough examples of this practice and name the companies involved, maybe there will be a difference between us, or they will act on it themselves, otherwise, the authorities will know where to start putting pressure and who to put it first.
If you haven't made such legislation yet, then maybe you can write to your own government and urge them to take action and introduce it.
