No. 121 Clarence Street, 613-627-
8482, five o'clock P. M. on Tuesday and Wednesday. m. to 2 a. m. , Thursday 3 p. m. to 2 a. m.
Friday to Sunday at 11m. to 2 a. m.
When I visited a foreign movie last weekend, most of the restrooms downstairs under $20 were closed and I should have noticed that it was a ByWard Market restaurant and not a reperrier cinema
The screen TV is adjusted to Netflix and plays the White House in black and white and off sound.
When I was tasting on scallops, perogies and fried Cornwall hens a few days ago, I could watch Star Trek.
So, the authenticity of the restaurant name is so much.
At least the website of the foreign film company states: "groups can ask in advance to play a specific movie in their experience and we will try our best to adapt!
"Please note that I love restaurant meals as a way to escape the ubiquitous screen in life, so no matter if my dining experience is Federico Fellini or Michael Bay on the side, it's not
More importantly, the food of the foreign cinemma, which tends to small plates and small entrees, is described as "American contemporary cuisine" and "West Coast ".
"For what I ate last week, I will apply a different set of descriptions, from decent and fun to defective to almost unedible. The 100-
Seat at Clarence Street restaurant-
According to the music for dinner after 10 on Thursday, Friday and Saturdaym.
When the live DJ started spinning, Ace Mercado replaced it, and the company had been operating for three years until it was closed in early November 2017.
The upscale Mexican restaurant was favored by some de-vandals in the fall of 2015, when it was considered the reason for the closure of its neighbor, the old-fashioned restaurant Mellos on Dalhousie Street.
Those who shy away from Ace Mercado should know that foreign cinéma, which opened in early December 2017, has different ownership.
From the staff of Ace Mercado, Barry Moore, the chef of the foreign cinma, was hired to manage the kitchen of the foreign cinma.
Strangely, the worst thing we ate at cinéma abroad was a plate of fish tacos ($12), which we were told was on the Ace Mercado menu
These tortillas are made of trout and are so salty.
We told our servers so he took them away and we didn't charge for them.
Other smaller plates are less objectionable but still need to be improved.
Lamb slider ($3) promising, house-
Wafer made of Dijon
Thorny seaweed that interests us.
It's too bad. the lamb is dry and owes. seasoned.
Scallops pickled fish with sour orange juice ($16) stir up our curiosity and taste buds with sweet and bright hibiscus --
But its scallops are casual, too chopped and light.
Vegetarian bread ($8) is no better than plain bread.
What's better is a well.
Smoked salmon perogies ($10) with active fried sauerkraut.
The best appetizer I 've ever tasted was a seafood salad ($16) with chilled shrimp, squid, grilled coconut and lemon ginger in addition to green vegetables.
It's very attractive, not ugly.
In a foreign film, a tuna poke bowl ($18) is spoiled by coconut rice.
Overall, the Bowl feels heavy when it should be lighter and brighter.
A dish of cooked pan is obviously better
Grilled trout ($17) with butter pumpkin puree and brocconini.
I ordered two fried Cornwall hens here ($18 )-
The second time, see if the bird will come out of the kitchen, not only broken and fried well, but also add more seasoning and moisture to its meat.
Happily, the second hen improved on its dry front with ground and fried green tomatoes on each plate.
I am a harsh judge of the ribs in the restaurant, where the ribs are often overcooked to be mushy, boring, or both.
But the foreign Sinima spareribs ($18) made us interested in their wooden hibiscus BBQ sauce and sesame skin and were tender as well.
The puc of the tortillas and the dorops of slaw finished the dish well.
Although the other dishes here are reasonably priced for me
I was impressed by the oz ribeye steak ($36) because it was hard to fall behind.
It has an OK char and an interesting flavor o beurre blanc, but the taste on its plate seems a bit blurry, especially at twice the price of the other main courses.
Delicious dessert for $8 per person.
Including a strawberry shortbread, a bit too pudding --
There are also three brownies (chocolate walnuts, red velvet, Ginger blonde ).
I was told that all new employees were personable, attentive and proactive when taking our orders and bringing food.
However, we were not very happy when we went to sit in front of the window --
Small banquet stained with food scraps, especially when we see someone --
I tend to think it's not an employee-
He stood in the bar and sprayed fresh cream directly from the diners mouth. Come on, bro!
Sit down and watch a movie!
