The price of pasta closed on Monday was $11 to $19;
Students walk to the website of the 20 cents discount Dreamland cafe at the front door proudly claiming that this 6-month-
The old restaurant on Preston Street is the best pasta in Ottawa.
"If this statement is not a dangerous signal for restaurant critics to come over as judges, then after two visits last week, what I would say is that Dreamland's bragging is a bit overdone.
But who doesn't? in this exaggerated era, I can still praise the dream, including some of the highest level of praise.
It's no big deal to call Neverland the cutest pasta restaurant in Ottawa.
From the pink appearance to the bright leaves
The inside of the cafe is wallpaper-like, giving guests the feeling of being young, happy, unpretentious or even female.
As you would expect, the owner of the restaurant is the young sister company and Marlo De Leo.
In fact, Dreamland cafe on Preston Street is their second business.
In May 2016, they opened the first Dreamworld cafe on Laurel Avenue, a small weekday lunch counter made by Dores --in-house, cooked-to-
Give the workers in the city center the pasta in the takeout carton.
Preston Street restaurant is only a step or two away from the old brothers in the city center.
Like on Neverland on Laurel Avenue, fresh pasta is the focus.
But little Italian Neverland is a wooden place with hard chairs and padded class rules that provide a full table service for about 20 people.
The patio is attractive throughout the summer.
Its menu branch offers more
Scratch fare including appetizers, Italian soda and desserts.
The cafe also offers wines and even cocktails.
My first lunch here started with a kale Caesar salad ($8.
50) it has a good oomph with salty, lemon and spicy flavors and most likely some anchovies in its seasoning.
During my second lunch, we split up four large, dense meatballs ($6 ).
50) sauce, good tomato flavor, strong.
Our pastor here, if not the best in town, is also very respectable.
Given their price, a bowl of pasta, small (but large) or most, usually cooked a little outside al dente, can be called the best wallet --
The pasta in the town is very friendly.
Last Saturday afternoon, the most popular on the table was squid --
Ink atoni with butter pumpkin-purée-meets-
Alfredo sauce ($16 for a small bowl;
All other pasta prices below also apply to small bowls ).
It is simple to make, but it is creative and full of beef and pepper.
The vegetarian dream pasta at this restaurant ($16) also brings delicious excitement as vegetarian penne is the background of vegetarian garlic, roasted red pepper, sun --
Dried tomatoes and mushrooms.
A bowl of angel hair aglio e olio ($11) made a more minimalist charm with olive oil, garlic, chili and anchovy, making them feel their presence.
A bowl of lemon and garlic sauce with angel hair noodles and shrimp ($16), the sauce is bright and clear, the shrimp tastes small and has teeth.
As soon as the spaghetti carbonara ($16) landed on the table, it was attracted by its bright egg yolk and ready to disperse.
According to the right way to make carbonara, this bowl is easy to enjoy and there is no cream happily.
But I think it might be a bit more luxurious.
Move a little sideways from pasta and the cafe also offers mac and cheese mug.
Classic, four
Cheese version with bacon ($14.
75) as comforting as needed, while the mac and cheese on goat cheese are rich in flavor with a layer of raw onion as a contrast.
We ended our first lunch with a piece of tiramisu ($8.
This is classic, light, creamy but not drunk.
A mini ice cream sandwich ($3.
Great for chocolate.
In our second lunch, we ate what we thought was the winner of the Dream dessert --
This is a very light cheesecake with a touch of caramel and a layer of fragrant pear ($9 ).
Finally, let me talk further about the best Italian concept in town.
In the past week, I have been eating at a more upscale Italian restaurant, where pasta has inspired me and my dining companions to enjoy themselves.
Whether or not we have just had the best pasta in Ottawa is not yet decided, but in a restaurant that is still to be reviewed, those dishes do make me happier than what I eat in dreamland.
Please note that in that luxurious place, pasta starts at $25
Much more than you are on Neverland.
Of course, our expectations are expanding as the cost of what we eat.
But while Neverland does not offer the best pasta in Ottawa, everything it offers is good enough in terms of taste, value and atmosphere.
