The new owner of the iconic Corktown bar said he did not intend to make any major changes to the agency, but warned that he would have to make a profit.
Former Toronto stock broker Jim perdikoullias took over Hamilton's oldest franchise on Thursday from former boss Gary Ceppetelli.
He was going to paint it, clean it up, and strengthen the menu.
He also wants to hire a marketing consultant to attract and promote the band.
He also hopes to eventually surpass the existing opening hours of Irish bars from Tuesday to Saturday. m. to 1 a. m.
The Landmarks of Ferguson Avenue South and Young Street have been operating as bars since 1931.
The building goes back to 1888.
"I will not change anything," said perdikoullias . ".
"I want to make sure the residents are happy, I want to make sure the customers are happy and I want to make sure the musicians are happy.
But I also want to make sure it's good for the cortown bar.
"I'm very excited," he continued . "
"I hope I can bring it back to some glory . . . . . . I really hope the residents will come again.
I have no intention of changing the name or what it is.
I really want it to be like it used to be and I want it to stay here for another 82 years. "The 42-year-

His parents run a breeze corner restaurant on the No. 6 Highway in fleboro.
He began washing dishes at the age of 11 and was eventually promoted to a chef.
He graduated from the University of Guelph with a bachelor's degree in business.
When the market collapsed a few years ago, perdikoullias withdrew from the stock market.
"I just went out and decided to buy myself a job," he said . ".
He said that when his wife, Christine, was considering buying it back in January, he fell in love with Corktown.
The business has been on sale for several months.
"That night, we sat down by the door and the snow was beautiful," he said . ".
"You can see the mountain.
My wife fell in love with it at once and I followed it.
"The bar entertained musicians such as Tom Wilson, The Forgotten Rebels, Blue Rodeo and New York Dolls.
Ceppetelli bought the bar in 2006. he also owns the Slainte Irish bar.
He carried out a massive renovation of the building, adding new floors, lights, ceilings, furniture and kitchens.
Perdikoullias won't say how much he paid for the business, but it's already on the market for $795,000.
"It has nothing to do with the price," he said . "
"This is about dreams . . . . . . My primary goal is to make it a successful bar.
