When it rains on the street outside of tequila, you can drink the plastic puppet-
Margar Tower wine with mango and blueberry tastes like Tex-
Mexican airplane food.
Right next to it, chef Ken Olin and manager Patrick Lyon laughed at a new taqueria.
Tequila Rain is a real nightclub, but as a Mexican restaurant, it's like ersatz when it comes.
Oringer and Lyons have its name engraved on the site: La Verdad.
But is Lanston Street a place to know the truth?
One night when we were eating outside La Verdad, passers-by included a woman in a tight, sparkling mini skirt;
Round, middle

A few drunken revelers
And a teenage girl posing next to a bigger silver busthan-

People are here to escape from reality, so what about a Mexican restaurant that targets authenticity?
It depends on the evening.
Sometimes the food is on the spot.
The skirt steak is completely medium rare and, as ordered, has a hard crust charcoal on the edge;
It comes with creamy black beans, an elegant roasted onion spear, and a neat pile of avocado sauce with decorative cotija cheese.
But sometimes the steak is medium greasy, wet with a piece of unity
There is no decorative cheese on the beans and a few scallions.
Only guacamole is the same, a simple, undecorated version, where you are reminded of the former glory of this dish.
One night, Cape Verde, Chile, was an elixir: soup, a little spicy, inlaid with home-cooked food of silky texture, and it was impossible to stop eating.
There was another night where the soup and spices were, but the posole kernel was hard in the middle, with a thin layer of grease floating on the top of the bowl.
Once again, close enough to make you yearn for what you know.
Sometimes this place is jumping.
When the Sox were in town, all the tables were taken away, providing shelter for those who avoided finding drunkenness outside: gray-
A friend who drinks in the hair of a polo shirt;
Young professionals
A group of loud, drunken medical students screamed jokes about scholarships and pediatric illnesses.
The bar is located in the center of the dim dark red room with slight drunkenness. (
The $8 margar Tower wine, which is a bit stingy, helps keep it going.
They have never seen the interior of a slush machine made of agave nectar. )
The seats were empty when the Red Sox were out of town, however, a group of concert spectators and a loud soundtrack made those dead statues not feel like they were living in ghost town.
Good service sometimes.
The waitress is fun and friendly and she will show up when you want her to come.
Services are usually closed if they are still friendly.
On the leftovers you are going to take home, a bus boy pile up the dirty dishes;
The waitress's explanation of the difference between the game day menu and the regular menu makes "Ulysses" look simple (
For the record, the regular menu offers more dishes, although the bar menu includes Wings).
But in this arena, La Verdad has made great progress since it opened in April, when it was almost impossible to get drinks from the bartender, not to mention some food, not to mention the table.
This taqueria is the most consistent tortillas, with 12 varieties from tongue to lobster.
They are not always perfect, but they are easily the most delicious thing on Lanston Street (
Including you, the shining Lady).
Tongue tacos, for example, contain dense, smoked meat that is offset by a little bright lime.
Featuring a chewy grilled skirt steak block, Carne asada features demi-glace.
Caramelized onions can be added to the steak, but don't eat too much.
The fish in the Pescado tortillas are slightly broken and fried clean, although its delicate taste is sometimes overwhelmed by the avocado close to it in the tortillas.
The lobster tower on the menu sings: stir-fry the lobster with garlic, scallions, honey lemon, coriander, Chile and corn paste.
Who doesn't want to eat that?
But in some cases the lobster is overcooked and there is no sign of honey lemon.
The $5 surcharge for putting a lobster taco on your three plates is not worth it ---
You 'd better spend the money on the roast corn, the price of the roast corn is the same.
This is an addictive version of Toro, the southern tip of Oringer's Spanish attraction, covered with melted white cheese and sprinkled with chili powder.
The tortillas are so satisfying that even if the filling is uneven, one of the reasons is the tortillas.
They taste homemade. -
According to Brian Roche, the executive chef, there are three employees dedicated to the production.

, La Verdad may have gone a long way in closing it.
But after that
Fans, young club members and music fans are scrambling to capture the opening performance, and food cannot be the focus of attention.
