In order to sort out our rankings, we first looked at the restaurants on the list of 101 Best Restaurants in the United States and we released them in advance every year.
The steps we took to build this ranking were as thorough and comprehensive as possible: we recruited a panel of outstanding judges, including some of the country's top food writers, critics, and bloggers submit their suggestions for the best restaurants in the country, and we complement them with our own choices, which include the rankings of previous years and the acclaimed newcomers.
The list of the hundreds of restaurants was subsequently included in a survey that was sent to our 174 panelists who voted to select their favorite restaurant.
The final ranking includes many Italian restaurants, and in order to create this list, we added Italian restaurants that entered our 101 final list as runners --
