A diner shared photos of the menu on Sina Weibo, a Chinese social media site, and immediately went viral.
The people who shared and commented on the photo said that the unconventional pricing system made them feel like they were back in the classroom, and others said the photo gave them headaches and nightmares.
Others reacted more positively and praised the restaurant, pointing out that mathematics is generally understood and easier to decode for tourists than words that are not well translated.
Fortunately, the owner sympathized with the math challenge, and the disclaimer at the bottom of the menu instructed the customer to simply ask if they needed help to make the bill.
