Forget about coffee queues with these \'order ahead\' apps - max restaurant skip the dishes
Hate waiting in line and you're not alone-there's a way to skip the line and wait for coffee in the morning.
In Australia, ordering food and beverage apps in advance is becoming more and more popular, catering to those who are running and those who hate queuing.
Today, with a dozen takeout apps, the pre-order service is taking advantage of the customer's smartphone and they are happy to leave the comfortable sofa for dinner, but don't want to wait for dinner, or who wants a coffee in a walk between the train station and work.
There are two main applications on the market for those who want to pre-
Order coffee or food from their favorite place: Hey, you (originally called Beat Q) and skip.
Both smartphone apps can be downloaded and used for free.
They allow users to order from nearby cafes and restaurants, pay for purchases online, and avoid queuing when they arrive to pick up their espresso or latte.
Bill Bizos, general manager of Skip, told SBS: "The whole idea comes from trying to solve the frustration of wasting time while waiting in line . ".
"Another obstacle we want to address is the issue that the venue only accepts cash," he said . ".
Hey, you started with three competing apps
Beat Q, Posse and eCoffee cards-
Pre-order apps, social referral services, and loyalty programs.
"We believe that if we combine these three applications, we will create a better customer experience and a larger customer network for the venue ,"
Founder Rebecca Campbell told SBS.
Skip and Hey both start with services that focus on coffee orders, but quickly expand to food orders that include selected cafes in most big cities and some areas.
"There is food on Skip at the moment, but we will continue to develop, which is our focus for the future," Bizos said . ".
Skip currently has more than 60,000 users, hey, you have about 300,000 users.
Both companies are expanding business outside of cafe orders;
Hey, you worked with the Australian Open earlier this year to allow tennis-
Spectators order food and drinks without leaving their seats, and Skip is currently experimenting with a service at the Etihad Stadium in Melbourne that will encourage customers to order in advance at sporting events.
Hey, you can also use it through the Westpac app and work with Uber earlier this year to get customers to hop on a car and pick up their coffee without taking out their wallets.
According to Campbell, hey, you plan to allow users to "order from their table" in the cafe ".
"If you're just going out for lunch, you don't want to wait for the waiter to order," she said . ".
Some apps that typically focus on food delivery also offer ancillary services that are ordered in advance, including EatNow and MenuLog.
Paypal also allows users to use their app to order in advance from certain local restaurants and take-out locations, and funds are withdrawn directly from the Paypal account designated by the user.
Ordering apps in advance is already part of everyday life in the US, and apps like Nowait go a step further, allowing customers to wait in line at restaurants without even having to leave their homes.
