Tom and Catherine Flynn know that travelers like comfortable food and familiar brands.
This is because the owner of Flynn's traditional Irish bar company
After meeting in Ireland where Tom lived, we spent a lot of time traveling together.
"We're always looking outside for the Guinness sign because you know you're in an Irish pub," says Catherine Flynn . ".
Catherine, a Canadian who teaches in Ireland, persuaded Tom to move to Canada for a year.
Twelve years later, he became a Canadian citizen.
Still, the couple returned to Ireland for their wedding.
Now, they have fully established themselves at the corner of Main Street and Robert Street in Penetanguishene, prominently showing the Guinness sign so that other travellers can find them.
"We sell a lot of Guinness Books," Flynn said . "
There are 13 bottles of beer, a glass of red wine and a glass of white wine on the tower.
The most popular dish is the cottage pie (
Like shepherd's pie.
And Guinness beer, fish and chips.
Irish breakfast for Poppa Tom with eggs, rashers, sausage and beans.
"We make all our own burgers here, our own cottage pies and crab cakes.
The bar makes its own sauces and soups, including spinach. artichoke dip.
"We didn't bring anything frozen," she said . ".
They also use local suppliers.
All the beef and sausage came from the grounds of Midland.
July 11 marks the fifth anniversary of the founding of popular bars and restaurants.
"It's going to be a week of lots of giveaways," Flynn said . ".
This bar is known for hosting live music every Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights without charging cover fees.
"There are a lot of local musicians coming here with their friends and family, so it's a busy place," Flynn said . ".
Tom and Catherine's daughter, Courtney, and her husband, Gary Colfield, have helped the Flins family open a bar for five years, but are now open.
They own and operate the Queen's Bay marine terminal in Victoria Harbour.
"We share information and help each other.
"We will send messages to people in the way they are booked and booked," Flynn said . ".

Com, Catherine and Courtney met with a wine representative who presented a potential new winery to the bar.
Special events are also held at the bar.
