A Taiwanese gourmet blogger was suspended for two years for writing negative comments at a Taiwanese restaurant and fined $200,000. The blogger surnamed Liu called the food and said there were cockroaches in the kitchen. A regular customer read Liu's blog and told the restaurant owner the comments. The owner sued Liu for slander. The Taichung Court, which eventually ruled on the case, ruled that Liu's comment was slander because it was written after a dinner, so it was not very good --We know enough about such a harsh judgment. This is the case in the United States, but they have almost never won. In that case, the decision of 1985 of the New York 2nd Circuit federal appeals court gave critics a great say in their restaurant reviews. The judge in the case explained that the American reader understood that the comments represented the author's point of view and therefore should not be viewed realistically. Subsequent lawsuits in the United States favor restaurants-Our critics!
