Canada's Rocky mountain range's ex-grand railroad hotels are now ski resorts - max restaurant skip the dishes

This place looks good in summer and is almost dangerous in traffic.
There are three ski resorts near Sunshine Village, Lake Louise and Norkey, so you will think the winter vacation here is easy to sell. Apparently not.
It was not until the 1970 s that two old railroad hotels in Banff National Park-the Banff Springs Hotel and the Lake Louise Castle-began to open in the winter.
Even now, these three ski resorts, under the cover of the big Whistler Blackcomb Mountain, have only a little bit of skiers and boarders from outside the province.
Now, as the snow falls down and starts to act, let me speak out for Banff, Sunshine Village and Lake Louise. (
I can't speak for Noki because I didn't visit it during my trip).
The easiest way is to fly to Calgary and then travel 120 km west on the straight and frequentplowed Trans-Canada Highway.
You can go to downtown Banff.
There are still 16 kilometers from Sunshine Village and 60 km kilometers from Lake Louise.

The guest rooms are located above the cable car route and close most of the time at sunset, so it is not a place for nightlife lovers.
But it is worth a look for someone who pursues a cable car passage that is peaceful, quiet and relaxed.
My next stop is Lake Louise Ski Resort.

From the top of the Glacier Express cable car, you can see a lake under a huge glacier a few miles down the valley.

After squinting in front of the lake, Glacier and Castle for a while, I turned and walked down the slope.
Although the combination of the resort is 25% beginners, 45% intermediate and 30% specialists, each of the five elevators has a choice of blue or green.
During the busiest days, the resort's skiers and boarders could reach 7,000.
I did not ride the Lake Louise cable car (

But after running for a while, I did stop by the lake, where the ice was still getting hard, and the hikers were testing it by swinging the rocks in the middle.

Or go to caves and basin National Historic Sites and learn how this place became the birthplace of the urban and Canadian park systems, as a railroad employee discovered hot springs in early 1880.
But be sure to set aside time to enjoy my favorite Canadian mountain.
It is located in the southeast of the town. all the peaks are jagged and the charm is rough.
From the Scarlet Lake in Banff's suburbs, you can see it clearly, and the foreground is a row of dark trees.
If you arrive at the lake before dawn like I did, it may be frozen.
But as you walk on the edge of these mostly frozen lakes, where darkness rises, you'll see Rundle mountain in an epic skyline view.
You grab it up again.
The thawed Shoal colored by the pink and orange sunrise reflects down.
At this time, if you are taking pictures, you may lose the feeling of your fingers.
But I can't think of a better way to start a winter day. —
